Well if you're talking about personal favorite films i must say, hunger games is my favorite new series/films 100% has to be American Horror Story it is classical horror, thriller stories based on things that happen usually in the past. Below is image of my favorite season which is "American Horror Story Coven" and its one of the first film that its title sequence/opening credit has intrigued me.
In the first section of the title sequence its set in a dark forest however there is special effects added to the part. This is black and white filter it also has a pixel fuzziness this has contributed to the old authentic vibe. Lurking behind the setting there are few silhouettes in some sort of costuming which similar to the "KKK" outfits however in black.
Throughout the title sequence there was many scenes with strange things such a monster mutated humans, voodoo magic, satanic signs and these relating to the plot of the film and also key objects such as voodoo doll told us there maybe black magic or witch craft.
Each scene was transitioned to a screen with a small amount of animation with the actors/actresses name this was repetitive pattern within the title sequence. However between these short clips of there were inserted clips of weird, creepy, gore scenes. All of this compiled together gave the film a very horrific idea of what the film is about without giving away the plot away they used many different imagery, scenes and transitions making the title sequence very fast pace but kept the detail.
The theme tune has very menacing tone to it which allows it to contrast excellently with the overall genre of the film this is horror and every couple seconds it has screeching/scratching sound the makes the audience feel unease and on their feet.
The title sequence order is different to other films, movies and series in this opening sequence the actors and actress are introduced first and then saving the most important to last which were the creators of the series.
