5. What is the purpose of a film opening?

The credits at the start of a film or programme introduce roles, including famous actor/actress,director, writer and other main cast. The opening credits can be shown in several different ways, but usually they are shown with a background soundtrack/audio music and an opening of a scene or piece of the film. This piece of film usually sets the scene to the movie and gives the audience a taster of what the movie is going to be about. Opening titles are extremely important because they also draw the audience into the movie.

Some good examples of films with good opening credits are the James Bond moves. Something that makes the James Bond films so exciting is the title sequence that accompanies the opening credits and are soke of the most vitala parts of the 'Bond Experience'.
