4. Analysis of title sequence

Analysis of title sequence

In this blog post i will be analyzing two different title sequences and will look into to detail how each individual title sequence presents their film.

Doctor Who: Series 8

The title sequence of doctor who is very futuristic we can tell this from the space themed design but also the music from the title sequence also emphasizes the feeling of sci-fiction. At the start of the title sequence it introduces us to gears to gives the audience of idea of mechanical item such as a watch then as it goes on we see time in roman numerals. This suggests to the audience that film has to do something about time and is a main story plot within the film. In the next scene we see a item called "Police public call box" from seeing this we can tell that this is a main prop in the film. When the roman numerals unravels we see the space themed design throughout this section it introduces main names that have contributed to the film. After the title is revealed to us "Doctor Who" and is silver and quite bold so it grabs the attention as the scene spirals into the word. The scene travels through space we see the significance of the "Police public call box" before the film starts.

21 Jump Street

This title sequence is different to doctors who we can tell that the film is patriotic from the american flag and the whole title sequence together has a fast pace to it. Throughout the scene there is a lot of action, violence, sexual activity and drugs from the scene i can see that the film will be based around these main attributes/categories. The music in the film is from the modern age such artist as "Nicki Minaj" this gave the film a upbeat atmosphere but also made it film much more younger and youthful. In some of the scene they would introduce characters but then give us a glimpse of who which person is who in the next scene.
