Evaluation Question 4.

Target audience is particular group or individuals that a product is marketed or advertised to. The target market i usually identified through certain sub-categories to pin point a specific type of group such as class, income, professions, age, gender and so forth.

Teen dramas movies was historically produced for teenagers around the ages of 13-18 depending on the sub-genre  however over time they have become more popular with different age ranges and gender types. In the 21st century many adults watch teen dramas for the sense of nostalgia and past memories that maybe related to the story plot of the film or characters within the film. Although children below the age range still may watch the film to see how the older generation of teenager's behavior. Teen drama audiences have become increasingly larger in the age range such as 16-30

In my target audience research blog number 10 shows that sub-genre affects the gender specific to that genre such action is stereotyped for males whereas romance will be aimed at the females.

As you can see the age range of 'Attack the Block' are from the ages of 40-59 this is a much bigger age range than stereotyped age of 13-18 that would watch a youth drama such as 'Attack the Block' also most commonly watched by male as the film sub-genre is sci-fi/action.

Another YouGov Profiles instead this is for 'Kidulthood' this film is gang related youth drama its surprisingly not specific male audience however its female which is out of the stereotype and the age range is more larger than expected. Mostly this could be because of interest or profession.

Comparing these two types of film that are similar main genres they both have in common where they're most often viewed from wales this could be because the film is set in urban area which is the main city.

The main genre of my film is teen drama however the sub-genre is youth drama as you can see above these two films are related and similar in sub-genres. Although this is true the target audience is different to my film as mine is based for the ages of 14-20 this because it is teen drama aimed at people who can related to it. I chose to have both genders as the audience because the main characters of the film are female and male.

The unique selling point of my film is the story-plot it challenges the stereotype of male being the main culprit of crime instead we have replaced it with a female. On the other hand there is also male actor who plays the guy who tries to take the key away from the girl. This is why we decided to make the film unisex. We also wanted the age range to be around the same ages as the cast so its more related.
