Evaluation question 4

Who would be your target audience for your media product

(An example of   a possible target audience member on a Facebook account)
Target audience: refers to the intended group for which something is performed or marketed - the specific group which advertising is directed.

Originally, teen movies were made for teenagers between the ages of 13-18. The plot of a teen drama is based upon the interest of teenagers and teenage subjects such as:
- coming of age
-First love
-rebelion
- conflict with parents
etc.
normally these subjects are stereotyped
However, since then the target audience for teen dramas has dramatically widened and have become more popular with different ages.

Nowadays many adults are attracted to teen dramas - this is because when watching it they feel a sense of nostalgia and past memories that might relate to the story plot

Our Target Audience
After doing an abundance of research into our chosen target audience we all agreed on the ages of 16-21. This is because we felt like that was the peak ages who were able to relate to our sequence.

This is an example of a similar film genre

As you can see from the demographics above - the main people who were watching the movie was between the ages of 18-24. Kidulthood is a similar genre to the title sequence we created - it is a action youth drama and so we were able to get an idea of the target audience who might suit our own film. Due to the fact Kidulthood is more violent than my title sequence, we decided to lower the age range to 16-21.

My unique selling point for my title sequence is the fact that it challenges the perception and stereotype of a black male leading character.Instead, we have decided to choose a black female character who is also young(17) and have a asian male pursuer who is of an older age (20). This gave space to have a unisex audience who can relate to both the characters.
