A target audience is a group of people who you aim your product/service to. Having a target audience means that you find it much easier to know the types of marketing strategy you need in order to appeal to your audience. With regards to teen drama, the target audience could be:
Teenagers: who can easily relate to the story line
Young Children: who will look up to and see what being a teenager is like
Adults: who will reminisce and experience nostalgia
i think our movie would best fit the target audience of teens aged 16-21
The main genre of my film is teen drama however the sub-genre is youth drama as you can see above these two films are related and similar in sub-genres. Although this is true the target audience is different to my film as mine is based for the ages of 14-20 this because it is teen drama aimed at people who can related to it. I chose to have both genders as the audience because the main characters of the film are female and male.
The unique selling point of my film is the story-plot it challenges the stereotype of male being the main culprit of crime instead we have replaced it with a female. On the other hand there is also male actor who plays the guy who tries to take the key away from the girl. This is why we decided to make the film unisex. We also wanted the age range to be around the same ages as the cast so its more related.
