inspiration for our title sequence ' Garage 32b '
______________________________________________

When trying to seek inspiration for our title sequence 'Garage 32B' there were various films and videos which we were attracted to. We looked at the storylines, camera shots and themes that were explored in each youth drama film/video and used them as a stimulus for our final project.

The Chase

This is the first film we took inspiration from.
In the opening, we see a school boy walking towards a sewer - he then takes out a plastic bag full of money and walks off. As the audience we are not fully aware of what the money is for and why it was there - which then added a mysterious aspect to it.
We used this as a stimulus for our title sequence. In the beginning of ours, it starts of with the main character( who is a school girl) walking towards and into a garage - the audience then just sees a hand and a main character handing over money in return for a package with keys. We thought this would be an interesting start to the sequence as the audience are not aware of who the hand is and what the keys are for. Similarly to 'The Chase' we wanted to add a mysterious aspect to our title sequence. Also, this film is a low budget independent film with lots of young actors and actresses so it was very interesting to see how it was done.

Hammered

From this title sequence, we took inspiration on how to layout the titles and what order they should be in. we also took into consideration the font, music and background to see how it all links and what effect it has to the audience. With this in mind, we took on the idea of the fade in - fade out with titles, but instead of fading in then out to another title we are going to add short bursts of clips of the main character running. This creates a black out effect

HOT FUZZ

Even though our group did not choose to do a comedy youth drama, we still gathered a lot of inspiration and ideas from the chase scene in 'Hot Fuzz'. As seen above, there are numerous camera angles and shots used in order to cover all perspectives of the chase. As a group we want to achieve a fast pace, eye catching chase scene just like this one.
