6. four types of film opening - Research

   

Above is just a brief presentation on the different types of title sequences which we are looking at.

Specifically we will be looking at Moving Images & Animation.

                                                                                                                                                                   

These four categories can further be categorized into three types; 

1. Narrative title sequences. These begin as the film begins. May be a long establishing shot or as part of a series establishing shots. e.g The Shining.

2. Discrete title sequences. It isn't clear what the film is about - remains a mystery throughout. Usually gives us small clues. e.g Se7en,

3. Stylised title sequences. A mixture of the above two. Moving images AND title credits have been stylized (with filters, motion etc.). e.g Taking of Pelham 124
